You might not be a kid anymore, but can you still squeeze in a closet or under a bed? OK, then you can still have fun playing hide and seek.

You remember hide and seek, don’t you? One person looks away and counts while all the others hide. The first one to be discovered loses and has to hunt for the others in the next round. That person is called it.

Check out this Cloverfield-inspired video of the Ebaby! cast playing hide and seek.

3. Watch - Watch the video without reading the dialog.

Dialog

1. Watch and Read - Watch the video and read the dialog at the same time.

2. Study - Read the dialog again to see how the vocab words are used.

Mason:  What about…

Beren:  Go go! Get away!

Mason:  Dang it! I’m sorry!

Mason:  Uh…

Mason:  Is anyone…

Marni:  No. Go!

Mason:  Shoot. Marni, I’m sorry.

Mason:  Where am I gonna hide? I gotta find a hiding spot.

Amanda:  Get out of here. You’ll blow it, Mason.

Mason:  Amanda, I’m sorry.

Mason:  Man. Jason stopped counting already.

Jason:  Where is everyone? You guys are good at this.

Mason:  Uh…Uh…

Mason:  What about in the closet?

Devan:  Hey! Go away.

Mason:  I’m sorry

Devan:  This is my spot.

Mason:  Oh no!

Jason:  Hey, there’s Mason! You’re it.

Discussion

When the person who is it is done counting and ready to look for everyone, he or she yells, “Ready or not, here I come!” Mason hears Jason yell those words, but he still doesn’t have a hiding spot!

He looks under the table, but Beren is already there. Marni is already crouched in the corner of the kitchen. He peeks behind the curtains, but Amanda is already there!

So Mason runs upstairs and looks in the closet. Devan tells him to get lost. Now he’s trapped. Jason walks in and tags him.

When’s the last time you played hide and seek? What children’s game do you like to play with your friends?

I smiled when you said I was always the loser. Your words are true it is possible that the game becomes dangerous for children, especially if they were away from family or home. True

I must say I´ve been playing hide n seek since I became a tax-payer adult. I mean, the Inland Revenue dept seeks me n I hide. Al Capone used to do that, too, didn´t he? C´mon! It´s just a joke. Actually, I´m a tax exile. Joking again, it seems…
