I have two surprises this week! First of all, John and I switched lessons and I’ll be hosting the Eavesdropping page for a while! (I’m very excited about this!)

Nedra

Tanis: Nedra I have some news.

Nedra: What is it Tanis?

Tanis: Well, it’s kind of exciting, um, I’m getting married!

Nedra: Oh my god! That’s so exciting. Congratulations!

Tanis: Thank you so much, yeah!

Nedra: Oh, I’ll bet you and Mark are so happy.

Tanis: We are and we’re so excited. The crazy thing is, we’re gonna have to plan this wedding really, really fast. We’re getting married in June. We’re kinda under the gun to get everything planned.

Nedra: That’s okay. I mean, you know sometimes people do it a year in advance and they’re really stressed out. That’s the month to get married. June’s like a very popular month so…

Tanis: I’m just praying that the weather’s nice ‘cause we’re gonna do it outside, but I think it’s gonna be a beautiful, um, ceremony and the reception should be a huge party.

Nedra: It’s gonna be an outdoor wedding right?

Tanis: Yeah, that’s why I’m hoping for good weather. Um, it’s gonna be at a vineyard actually and then we’re gonna have, um, the wedding and reception in the same place.

Nedra: Oh, that sounds romantic. That’s really what you want, right?

Tanis: Yeah, definitely. And then I don’t want to have it be all traditional. Like, I’m gonna have my bridesmaids walk down the aisle to, um, Stepping Out With My Baby by Toni Bennett.

Nedra: Wow. That’s kind of cool. It’s good to try different things. I don’t like the boring stuff.

Tanis:Yeah, I think it should be a good thing.

Can you believe it??? It really is a big surprise, isn’t it!!!
You can tell by the tone of my voice when I am telling Nedra about my wedding plans how excited I am. Can you hear in her voice how happy she is for me?
Planning a wedding is a very big deal. Many brides take over a year to plan their special day. I am in a bit of a whirlwind these days, as I only have a few months to take care of all the details! Still, I think it is nice to do this quickly, as I have less time to obsess about the details!
