Kyle

Steph:  So, Kyle, I’ve been riding my bike in to work quite a bit lately.

Kyle:  I noticed that. Are you having car problems?

Steph:  No. Not at all. My car’s working just fine, but the weather’s been so nice. It’s great.

Kyle:  Yeah. I’ve been thinking about riding my bike to work.

Steph:  Yeah. It’s totally fun. You just have to be careful when you’re out on the road.

Kyle:  Are you riding on bike lanes or on the sidewalk?

Steph:  Uh, it kind of depends. If there’s a bike lane, I’ll use it, but otherwise I use the sidewalk or I’ll just go out into traffic.

Kyle:  Right. Do you know the rules of the road? Left hand up to turn?

Steph:  Not really. I’m, kind of a menace on the, on the road.

Kyle:  Well maybe I’ll start riding my bike to work with you.

Steph:  That’s a good idea, ya know. It’s always nice to have a partner.

Kyle:  Alright.

Discussion

There are many benefits to riding a bike instead of a car. For one, you get to be outside and get some exercise. It’s also a great way to meet people because people on bikes have something in common.
Another great reason to ride rather than drive is that you don’t have to look parking space. For me, sometimes it takes 15 minutes just to find a parking space!
There are other benefits to riding. Can you think of any? What about drawbacks? Can you think of any drawbacks to riding?
