Traveling can be so much fun! Many people look for cheap accommodations to save money. Youth hostels are a great way to meet people from different countries and are more affordable than hotels.

Youth hostels offer kitchens, showers, and a friendly atmosphere for relaxing with other travelers. Guests stay in dormitory-style rooms, but some travelers may think it’s a nuisance to share their accommodations with others.

Sara_R is going on a trip with her friend, and they are planning to stay in a youth hostel. Find out what Julie thinks about dormitory style accommodations in today’s lesson about youth hostels.

Sara_R:  My friend wants to go on a trip and stay in a youth hostel.

Julie:  Fun!

Sara_R:  Not fun!

Julie:  Why not?

Sara_R:  You have to share bathrooms and kitchens with strangers!

Julie:  Right, but it’s so affordable and you get to meet people from all over.

Sara_R:  I know but it’s a nuisance to have to sleep next to people you don’t know. And a lot of them don’t have common courtesy when it comes to taking turns in the bathroom.

Julie:  You know, I have had some issues when staying in youth hostels. I really hate it when people come in after going dancing or whatever, and they turn the light on in the middle of the night. But I feel like it’s a good trade off when you can save a lot of money and do your own cooking.

Sara_R:  That’s true. On one hand it’s a nuisance, but on the other hand, you’re right. I’m just grown out of it I guess.

Julie:  I hear you.

Generally , having a trip and getting youth hostel needs to have high tolerable .
Living with nuisance people , nasty persons and the people don’t know what’s called comman courtesy it’s sort of issue , but if it’s not big deal for travellers who want to save money beside all happens it might a enjoyable trip for them .
We have to realize that dormitory accomadation is not permanent place like a house .
Youth hostel should be great chance to meet new people with different attitude !
On the other , it’s absolutely affordable for travellers who don’t want to spend too much money for two weeks vocation .

I have been in a hostel once! I traveled with two friends and we stayed in a hostel. We slept in a four bed dormitory, so we didn’t share the dormitory with strangers. The hostel was very affordable, confortable and well located. It was a great experience!

I have never shared a dormitory with strangers, I would say that sharing the dormitory with people you don’t know probably would be nuisance. But it is the “price to pay” in order to have an affordable trip.

I have never been to youth hostel. I think that it is very fun in youth hostel. We can acquire a lot of people who come from different countries. Everyone can share story or interesting things with themselves’s experience. But all about things’s premise is that everyone must have courtesy.

Yeah! maybe common courtesy issues can be a nuisance, but the experience of meeting other people and share a couple days with them is worth the trade off. Who knows? Maybe you’ll earn a new friend there!
