Hi Friends!
I’m not the most mechanical person under the sun, but I use computers every day and I love how easy they have made life!
One thing I do NOT like is having a computer that won’t work. I thought it might be nice to hear some examples of typical questions and answers you may run into with computer problems.
Listen Below!

Person two: Try pressing down the buttons “Control” “Alt” “Delete”. That will restart your computer.

Person one: I can’t connect to the Internet. Am I doing something wrong?
Person two: Did you log in properly? Is your_“Caps Lock”_ button on?

Person one: The Illegal Operation window popped up on my screen again. What should I do?
person two: Try closing it and see if your computer will still work. Be sure and save your work. If your computer is still not working, try restarting it.

Discussion

Whew! Can you remember everything you just heard? The important thing to remember is that it is okay to ask for help with your computer. It is best if you can describe to the person who is helping you what the computer is doing, or how it is working incorrectly. Make sure to study the vocabulary words in this lesson, they will be a great help to you if you have computer trouble in the future!
One great tip when dealing with an uncooperative computer is to press the three buttons “Control” “Alt” “Delete” at the same time. This will immediately stop a program from running, and if you press the buttons again it will restart your computer. As I said before, I’m not the most mechanical person, but I do use that trick quite often!
Have a great week friends, and if you have any computer questions, let’s talk about it on the “Life Goes On” Message board!
Your Friend,
Tanis
