Hey Friends!
John and Miguel were driving back from a meeting earlier this week when they realized they were very hungry. They quickly pulled into Taco Bell and got a cheap, tasty meal. They also got a great recording of their interaction with the Taco Bell employee who helped them.

John:  Okay, thanks. What do you want Miguel?

Miguel:  Um… I don’t know yet. Hold on, give me a second. I’m just going to have… a Seven Layer Burrito and two bean burritos.

John:  Okay, are you there?

Taco Bell Attendant: Yeah, I’m ready.

John:  Alright, we’ll have two seven layer burritos, three bean burritos, and one Double Decker Taco *... and, uh, one medium Diet.

Taco Bell Attendant: I have two Seven Layer Burritos, three bean burritos, one Double Decker Taco and a medium Diet?

John:  Yeah, and could we get some, uh, Fire Sauce with that?

Taco Bell Attendant: Sure! Okay, that will be $7.43. Thank you!

John:  Thank you! (Drives the car up to the window)

John:  How you doing?

Taco Bell Attendant: Doing okay.

John:  Beautiful day huh?

Taco Bell Attendant: Oh yes, and I’m still new at this drive thru.

John:  Well, you’re doing a great job!

Taco Bell Attendant: Oh thank you. This is not really lunch rush. Okay, your Diet’s coming up.

John:  Thank you.

Taco Bell Attendant: Do you want a lot of
Fire Sauce* or…

John:  Uh…just like…

Taco Bell Attendant: A handful?

John:  Four or five packs is good.

Taco Bell Attendant: Okay. $2.57 is your change.

John:  Thank you.

Taco Bell Attendant: Okay. Here’s that for you.

John:  Great.

Taco Bell Attendant: And your food will be coming up shortly.

John:  Thanks.

Taco Bell Attendant: You’re welcome!

Discussion

John and Miguel were able to get a ton of food for only $7.00! Those cheap prices are part of what makes Taco Bell so popular. Many young people eat there regularly because your get a lot for your money!
The Taco Bell employee was friendly and helpful, which made John and Miguel happy. Notice how John took the time to ask her about herself when he drove up to the window. This is not a necessary action to take when ordering food from a drive-thru, but it is a nice gesture.
Come and tell me about any drive-thru experiences you have had on the message boards!
Best to you all,
Tanis
