Hi Friends!
In the U.S. bigger usually means better, especially when it comes to fast food. Most fast food restaurants offer super value meals, or super size items that contain more food for less money. For example, when you buy something at McDonald’s, the server will often ask if you’d like to “Super Size” your order – meaning that you can get a lot more food for just a small amount of money.
John recently got a “Mucho Grande” soda from Taco Bell. Listen to his conversation with Anna about the extra large drink.

John: Check out how big this drink is!
Anna: That’s insane. What size is that?
John: It’s like 44 ounces and it was only 99 cents.
Anna: 44 ounces! Can you drink 44 ounces in a sitting?
John: I don’t know. I think it’s all ice though, so it’s, it’s mostly water, but it’s Taco Bell’s special right now.
Anna: Ooh, I don’t like the Taco Bell. They don’t have Coke, only Pepsi, and I’m a Coke fan.
John: Oh, you’re a big Coke drinker.
Anna: Huge Coke drinker.
John: How many Cokes do you drink a day?
Anna: Um, well I have a bit of an addiction, but it’s, it’s, it’s waning now, so about two.
John: Two. You know how much sugar is in those things?
Anna: Oh, whatever, “Mucho Grande!” You see the size of your drink!?!
John: This is diet!
Anna: Oh please! Give me a break.

I can’t believe Anna drinks two Cokes a day! That’s a lot. I rarely drink soda, and when I do I try to drink a natural soda, like Cricket Cola. I don’t like to eat so much sugar, and caffeine makes me feel sick.
Anyway, if you do like to eat a lot, the U.S. is the right place for you. It’s always easy to find cheap, easy meals at a low price.
Have a great week!
