Has anybody visited Egypt or Iran recently?

I’m thinking about visiting Egypt or Iran during Idul Fitri holidays (2-10 July 2016), leaning more towards Egypt.
Some of my friends have discouraged me from travelling to those countries, hence I’m having second thoughts.
If you have been to both countries, which one do you prefer? And why?

Read the recent news. None is safe. Iran more or less probably, but you got to follow their Islamic rules.. Not to get in trouble there.
Go to safer place- North Pole, probably;)

The FCO recently lifted the warning against travel to Iran, so that was what made me consider going. I do agree with you that it’s best to stay on top of current events before jetting off.

But the greatest civilization of the world—Pyramid, at Egypt.
