the different is in the tense of the verb

I hvae inserted .. is present perfect

I inserted .. is simple past

both refer to the past but the present perfect shows that the action take place in the past and continue until the present time while the simple past means it happened and end in the past

In additonal,

in case "I have inserted" (present Perfect) You've just done it, not need additional information about specific time. The exact time is not important.

  • I have met him
  • Have you read the book?
  • People have traveled to the Moon.

but if you "inserted" in simple past mostly you have to use additional info of the specific time in the past. (When you don't define the time, even it has to be in your mind)

  • Last year, I traveled to Japan.
  • I saw a movie yesterday.
  • Did you have dinner last night?
