Speaking of refugees:’Suedwestpresse’ says that right now about 1 million Syrian citizens are considered refugees. Some of them were just removed from their homes by for example militant groups or terrorists. Others fled due to their homes being destroyed. Others fled because the area they lived in has become to dangerous with all the militant groups around fighting each other and police officers brutally beating down any demonstration.

‘Domradio’ says that now there is some kind of emergency system between Germany, Italy, France, Malta and Finland. This system is supposed to ensure that between these 5 countries responsibility for refugees shall be divided in a way that each of them gets its fair share of refugees.

Speaking of refugee camps: ‘Amnesty International’ says that the refugee camp on the island of Symi (Greece) despite belonging to the EU still neglects the supply of refugees with even the most basic needs like medical stuff and even food.

‘Domradio’ says that the number of homeless people in Germany has increased to 650.000 people. They say that partially this number is due to refugees who actually would have been granted support as refugees, but for one reason or another don’t. Some are illegal aliens who have mental disorders that tell them not to get registered and not to accept any help. Others run away from the home they were given and – despite knowing that by leaving a certain radius they lose any right of support for refugees by the state – try to reach relatives or friends who live somewhere else in Germany. Others aren’t actually refugees anymore, but after a while became German citizens and then became homeless sometime later.

Speaking of refugees: Recently there have been court cases against private ship owners in the EU, because they saved refugees in distress. Instead of simply calling the coastguard and technically doing nothing they picked up the refugees and brought them to the nearest coast. This was seen as helping them to illegally immigrate to the EU by judges. Thus the ship owners usually were sentenced. Anyway last Saturday hundreds of people all over Germany demonstrated against this criminalization of these people who actually can be considered benefactors.
